Some recent things. Unless you read this a year from now. Then it's not so recent I guess.

A few new things. New style Santas. Hopefully people like them and I can sell them at a reasonable price. The leaf reliefs have been doing well at BB.

Some new Santas! Making Christmas stuff and my lawn is in better shape than it was in the summer. Detail of Zombie Santa. Apparently the North Pole has gone zombie and Santa ate his elves. Sad news yes, but who didn't see that coming? Srsly.

Some new little figures, made from 2"x3" pine. I'm liking the cats, and superheroes lend themselves well to brightly painted work. Beavers rarely show enthusiasm.

A variety of carved poplar boards.

Some new fish carvings. Pine and acrylic. Whimsical bass and muskie, plus a stylized blue fish and a realistic pumpkin-seed sunfish and an arowana.

Something new again. Carved poplar boards. 3/4" thick by 4.5"x6.5". Made with carving tools and woodburning tools. Painted in acrylics. Many subjects and designs.

Bees! Slightly new design for this year. Shaped "double" wing and a rounder head with larger eyes. Cedar and pine, painted in acrylics.

Personal demons. Simple little, fun carvings. All sorts of designs and subjects. Pine painted in acrylics.

Beavers and Penguins are often featured in my work. I'm not entirely sure why that is, but there you go. If you like beavers and penguins then this will be good news I suppose.
The Wave Fish. A variation of Hokusai's "the wave"...er..on a fish.
Angry cats! Angry, shaved cats to be exact. Perfect for home or office.

Blue fish with tongue. Pine and poplar, painted in acrylics. Not sure why, but I figured it needed a tongue.

The Lion Fish

A 14" wooden lion fish. Painted in acrylics.

Corel PainterX, from a cell-phone camera pic taken at an aquarium shop. One of my favorite digital images.

The traditional version

Here's the 24x36" oil painting, based on the digital painting I'd done earlier in the year.

Digital and traditional.

Here's a digital sketch I did in Corel PainterX, in preparation for a traditional oil. The original image was taken with a cell-phone camera, during a boat trip through the Kawartha Lakes.
